What is a ‘browser extension’, why do I need it, and how do I install it?

A browser extension is a simple add-on that you download from within the desktop browser on your computer which enables you to shop at our retailers’ online stores and earn rewards as a Pie Rewards’ member. If you don’t install and use our browser extension when shopping online from your computer, the retailer won’t know you’re a Pie Rewards member and you won’t earn rewards for that online purchase.There’s a browser extension available for each of the four main desktop browsers:

In Chrome on your computer:

Open the Chrome Web Store
Find and select the Pie Rewards extension
Click Add to Chrome
Click Add extension to approve the installation
Don’t forget to pin the Pie Rewards Button to the toolbar so you don’t have to go looking for it in future

In Firefox on your computer:

Click the Pie Rewards extension Firefox
Then click Add to Firefox
We’ll ask for your permission: click Add Extension to continue
After installing the extension, Firefox will give you the opportunity to enable it in private browsing
Tap Okay, Got it to finish

In Safari on your computer

Open and choose Safari Extensions from the menu bar (the Apple App Store opens, at the Safari Extensions page)
In Safari Extensions, search for Pie Rewards
Click Install Pie Rewards extension
After the extension is installed, click Open and follow the on-screen instructions provided by the extension

In Edge on your computer

From the settings menu accessed by clicking on the three dots [...] located to the right of the browser’s address bar, select Extensions
Select Open Microsoft Edge Add-ons
Search for Pie Rewards and on the extension tile click Get
We’ll ask for your permission: click Add Extension to continue
Once the extension has downloaded and installed, click Extensions on the toolbar, and make sure to click Show in Toolbar for easy access to the Pie Rewards Edge extension

How do I shop online with the Pie Rewards browser extension?

When you visit the website of a Pie Rewards’ Partner — for example, if you decide you want to do some shopping at www.theiconic.com.au — you’ll see a small pop-up notification appear in the top right hand corner of your browser.

Be sure to take the following steps before you make a purchase so you earn a reward:

Click on the orange activate ‘Pie Rewards now’ button.
Watch as the page refreshes and check that the button turns green and changes to ‘Activated’. A green ‘Activated’ button means that the retailer’s website now knows you’re a Pie Rewards member, and will pass through any rewards you earn to us, so we can invest them for you.
As long as the button is Activated (green), you’ll earn rewards when making your purchase, which we’ll convert into units in your Pie Rewards’ investment portfolio.

If you later make another purchase with the same retailer, or a period of time has elapsed, or you start a new browser session, you may need to follow the steps above to activate the Pie Rewards button again. If you go to another retailer’s website and make a purchase, you’ll need to Activate the button for that website. Always be sure to check the button is green and Activated, or you’ll miss out on earning rewards!
